The 27nd edition of Humour at ... Gura Humorului, the International Festival of Cartoon and Humorous Literature will be held between 16th and 18th of June, 2017.
THE CONTEST REGULATIONS
CARTOONS
1. The Edition theme: THE ART OF MANIPULATING PEOPLE.
2. Original works are accepted, in digital format, created after January 1st, 2017, which were not published and submitted or awarded prizes to other competitions.
3. Two (2) is the number of papers accepted.
4. The works will be submitted by May 31th, 2017 (posting date) on the following addresses:

5. Technical requirements:
- Papers sent by e-mail: minimum 1600 x 1200 pixels, JPG format
- Papers sent by regular postal mail: format A3
- The technique used for the works will be at the free choice of the artist
6. The works are not to be returned. They will be added to the patrimony of the Humour at ... Gura Humorului Festival and the organizers are entitled to use them later as edited materials with the name of their author on them.
7. The participants are required the following documents enclosed with their works: the completed entry form attached, a brief CV and a personal photography/cartoon self-portrait of minum 6x9 cm (on paper) or 710x1065 pix. (digital format).
8. The prizewinners will be notified by June 14th, 2017 to be present for the Awards Festivity held on Sunday, June 18th, 2017.
9. Transport expenses, accomodation and meals are the responsibility of the participant or the organization/institution he/she is part of. The organizers will be notified in due time to make the necessary reservations.
10. The prizes to be awarded:
1st Prize : EUR 500
2nd Prize : EUR 300
3rd Prize EUR 200
The "George Gavrilean" Prize for the debutantes in Bucovina - EUR 200
11. The jury are the ones who decide upon awarding or not awarding or re-allocating the prizes. In addition, the jury will decide upon the works or the authors to be rewarded by sponsors, associations, mass-media, institutions, commercial societies or private persons, with their consent.
12. There will be no participation fees.

R U L E S 2017
1. The 11th HumoDEVA ICC is an open competition for cartoonists all over the world. The participation is free of charge.
2. The artworks must be presented in a FREE THEME - MY BEST OF 2016-2017.
3. Deadline: May 3, 2017.
4. You can submit max 10 works, made in 2016-2017. The cartoons must not contain text.
The name of the cartoons must contain the entrant’s family name, first name, country and title of work (in english). Example: JOHN Doe - Romania - Victory.
The works must be digitized in 300 DPI resolution, RGB, JPG format, with the maximum limit of 3 MB.
5. Please send at the e-mail address humodeva@gmail.com your cartoons, your photo or caricature and a short biography in English, including date of birth, education, profession, awards, publications and exhibitions.
6. The cartoons selected for the contest will be exhibited free of charge on the HumoDEVA 2017 web site for the attention of all cartoonists to prevent similarity, copying and stealing. Any cartoon which is similar, copied or stolen will not be awarded. The contest results will be announced on the HumoDEVA 2017 web site.
7. The Jury will award the following prizes for the best works, no matter the categories:
GOLD PRIZE 400$, Special Honor Diploma and a Personal Gallery on BestCARTOONS.net
SILVER PRIZE 300$, Special Honor Diploma and a Personal Gallery on BestCARTOONS.net

Jury’s decisions are final.

The prizes can be paid in Deva or can be posted to the cost of the receiver. The organizer does not assume any liability regarding taxes or bank charges.
The original drawings of the prize winning entries should be sent in maximum two weeks from the results announcement, well-wrapped and protected against damages.

8. 9. By submitting the works to The HumoDEVA INTERNATIONAL CARTOON CONTEST, the artists accept the decisions of the Jury and the rules printed above.

International cartoon contest “Down with…!” 2017, Russia

The Big Digital Encyclopaedia of Caricature has announced
an international cartoon contest, “Enough!”, dedicated to
the centenary of Russia’s October Revolution
(November 7th, 1917)

Conditions of Entry:
Participants are expected to produce work that is based conceptually on the theme of revolution, whether this references specifically the events of 1917 or any other revolution in history, be it red, black-and-white or indeed of any other colour.
We encourage the participants to caricature famous historical figures, making use of allegory and allusion.
Technical requirements:
We will accept works employing any drawing technique, in digital format, size A4, at a resolution of 300 dpi.
An individual artist may enter any number of works without limit.
Collages will be judged along with cartoons in the same category.
Caricatures in the form of portraits will be judged in a separate subcategory.
Deadline for submission:
Works must be submitted by email to postmarat@gmail.com no later than November 1st, 2017
Winners will be announced on November 7th, 2017.

SCHEDULE
01- The 25th Universitarian Humor Exhibition of Piracicaba/UNIMEP, organized by the Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba UNIMEP (Methodist University of Piracicaba), will be held in accordance with the following schedule:
Applications until: May 20th, 2017
Art selection: May 29th, 2017
Awards: June 2nd, 2017
PARTICIPATION
02- Only students enrolled in an under-graduate or graduate program, of any University or College acknowledged by its local government, can apply to the Universitarian Humor Exhibition. They must send the Application Form attached to a document that can prove his enrollment in a University or College.
CATEGORIES
CHARGE: humoristic drawing related to a recent fact
CARTOON: humoristic drawing with no relation with any specific fact
CARICATURE: face reproduction with anatomic distortion, usually from a well-known person.
COMIC STRIP: sequential story in stages/frames.
SPECIAL: thematic category specific to humor artworks that deal with ENVIRONMENTAL / ECOLOGICAL issues.
APPLICATION
There is no charge or cost for the application and it can be done in person or by electronic or regular mail.
03- Each participant can apply to as many categories as he or she wishes, with no limit regarding the quantity of works sent. However, THEY MUST BE FROM HIS OWN AUTHORSHIP AND NEVER BEEN PUBLISHED BEFORE. In the cases which these conditions are not followed, the committee will proceed with the cancellation of the application or the annulling of the awards and the mentions received. In addition, the committee may decide to take legal action against the transgressor.
Obs 1: COPIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED (photocopies, photography, heliography) of the artworks.
Obs 2: Artworks made in the computer and printed will be accepted since they follow the rules of authorship and must not have been published before.
Obs 3: Regardless of the number of works sent by the authors (free), there will be a limit for the selection of a maximum of 03 works by each artist in each category.
04- The Artworks sent by email or delivered in person must respect the following observations: 30 x 40 centimeters (12x16 inches), no frames attached, identification in the overleaf containing first and last name, country, telephone, e-mail, the category in which the specific artwork is being submitted and the name of Educational Institute (in clear script). 05- Copies of the Application Form will be accepted if they are perfectly readable.
06- The Artworks sent by e-mail to salaodehumor@unimep.br must be formatted in JPEG, 300 dpi, limit file size: 3MB. Other procedures for sending an electronic file can be found at www.unimep.br/salaodehumor. The set of artworks must be attached to the completed Application Form, in addition to the image of the DOCUMENT CONFIRMING that the student has regular academic link (or finished the course in the last two years)
07- The applications will be valid if, besides the observation of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th items, are received by the Organizational Committee until May 20th, 2017. For the application by mail, the date of postage will be considered.
08- All valid Artworks applied, according to the 7th item, will be submitted, to a pre-selection process, and only these will be eligible for the awards.
Obs 1: All applied Artworks can be reproduced by UNIMEP with the purpose of promoting the Universitarian Humor Exhibition.
AWARDS
09- Many awards in cash will be granted, in total R$ 6.000,00 (six thousand reais), divided into:
Four (04) awards in cash of R$ 1.000,00 (one thousand reais) each, indicated by the Award Jury among the selected artworks (regardless category).
One (01) special/thematic Award, entitled Meio Ambiente/Centro Cultural Martha Watts-Unimed, in the value of R$ 1.000,00 (one thousand Reais), given to the best artwork that deals with ENVIRONMENTAL/ECOLOGICAL issues.
One (01) special award entitled Prof. Almir de Souza Maia, in the value of $1.000,00 (one thousand reais), among the SELECTED artworks, defined by voting via INTERNET from the indication of the artists themselves/Selected authors in that edition.
Obs 1: Other awards and mentions can be created by the Organizational Committee.
Obs 2: CASH Prizes will only be deposited in Current Account (Individual) in the NAME OF ARTIST WINNER, who shall inform all data of that bank account to the Organizing Committee, after requested.
10- The selection of the Artworks to be presented in the Exhibition and the selection of the winners will be conducted, respectively, by the Selection Jury and the Award Jury. Members of the Jury are people with acknowledgeable talent in the area.
11- The awarded Artworks in conformity with items 9 and 10, will be considered property of the Methodist University of Piracicaba. The ownership, utilization rights and any other rights over the Artwork will pertain to UNIMEP and Centro cultural Martha Watts-Unimed, that maintains to itself the right to use it as wanted.
12- The non awarded Artworks can be withdrawn by the authors in person or by written permission to a third party in the period from August 24th to October 30th, 2017 in the same location mentioned in item 04. The Artworks can also be returned by mail; for that the author must send a written request authorizing the mailing of the work, which will be paid by the recipient.
13- The Organizational Committee and the Methodist University of Piracicaba are not responsible for eventual damage or loss of the artworks sent by mail or internet.
14- The formalization of the application will indicate that the participant is in accordance with this regulation.
15- Problems not foreseen by this regulation will be solved by the Organizational Committee and Rectory of UNIMEP.

Anyone participating in the contest agrees with
the terms of the Decisions of the jury.
• Theme:
CARTOON: Africa seen by cartoonists
Conditions of participation
The number of works per participant is limited to 2 (two).
The Works can not Have been published, exhibited
or won prizes in Morocco or abroad.

REGULATION
1. Nature and scope of the 9th International Festival of Humor of the Amazon - Ecology in Trace is intended to be included in the calendar of humor events in Brazil and the world, with the aim of stimulating and publicizing the production of graphic humorists. It is important that this humor room is a graphic gallery to show the talent and criticism of all the cartoonists concerned about the ecological problems that afflict our planet, particularly the Amazon.
2. Deadlines
The 9th International Humor Festival of the Amazon - Ecology in the trace will be held in the period from May 27 to June 4, 2017, in the Hangar - Convention Center of the Amazon, Belém-Pará-Brazil, within the programming of the XX Pan Amazon Book Fair).
Period of registration: March 23 to May 10, 2017;
Opening and Awards of the Salon: May 27, 2017;
Closing of the Festival (Belém-Pará): June 4, 2017;
3. Modalities and Selection
Theme A: Ecology (Required) - In this category all unpublished cartoons that deal with ecological problems and which have not been awarded in other events are considered. 50 papers will be selected.
Theme B: Free - In this category are considered all the cartoons unpublished on any theme and that have not been awarded in other events. 35 papers will be selected.
Theme C: Caricature - In this category are considered all the unpublished caricatures of any recognized personality that have not been awarded in other events. 40 papers will be selected.
4. To participate
A) Artists and directors of any nationality can participate;
B) Cartoons and caricatures:
Scanned or computerized works, 300 dpi, A3 or 30x40 cm format, RGB color mode, jpg (average) will be accepted, with a maximum limit of 1.0 MB, only unpublished works which have not been awarded in other halls or festivals;
C) Complete the registration form with all the data of the participant: full name, artistic name, complete address with zip code, headphones, email, RG, CPF, bank details, works titles, production year, attach together with the works and send to email: humorecologico@gmail.com
D) Each participant may submit to the competition 02 (two) works by modalities: 1- Theme A: Ecology (mandatory); 2- Topic B: Free; 3- Topic C: Caricature;
E) It is forbidden to include cartoons and / or cartoons selected in previous editions of Humor Hall of the Amazon or in other Festivals and that are not unpublished;
5. The Judging Commission
A) The organization of the 9th International Humor Festival of Amazonia will constitute a Pre-selection Committee that will indicate the works that will integrate the exhibitions.
B) The Judging Committee shall be composed of five members of well-known competence;
C) The chairman of the Judging Committee will be an artist specially invited for this purpose;
D) The Judging Committee shall be responsible for awarding honorable prizes and mentions;
E) The decisions of the Judging Commission and the Pre-selection Commission shall be sovereign and unappealable;
6. Works and originals
A) The works sent for selection will not be returned and will become part of the collection of the Salon of Humor of the Amazon;
B) The Project Organizers reserve the right to use any work registered, at any time, for the purpose of disseminating the event and / or carrying out the project itinerary by Brazilian states and municipalities.
C) No work shall be offered for sale or used for commercial purposes;
D) When submitting your registration form and work(s) the participant accepts and agrees automatically with all the rules of the contest;
8. Copyright
A) The act of registering a work automatically implies the assignment of the respective reproduction rights for non-commercial purposes;

International Competition of satirical design about Kite

"VOLOEVENTO”, presents the second edition of “Cartoo’n’Kite” - International competition of satirical design dedicated to Kite.
1 - The theme of the competition: “Kite and Wind”
The artwork must be developed on a single table in the maximum size UNI A4 (cm. 21 x 29.7 – 300 dpi).
Any kind of graphical technique will be accepted, including digital artworks if the prints are signed and if they are print number one.
Participation is for free, open to artists of any nationality.
The artwork must be original, copies will be not accepted.
The artwork must not have been published in the past.
For minors a permission of a parent or his representative is required.
Each author may participate with one artwork. If sent more artworks the Guarantee Committee in its sole discretion, will choose the work that will participate in the contest.
A Guarantee Committee - composed of professionals and representatives of the cultural world, will select the thirty most significant artworks which will be exhibited at “Il Castagneto” of Toscolano.
The thirty finalist artworks will not be refunded and will remain property of the Organizing Committee.

The thirty finalists artworks will be published on www.toscolanoeventi.it.
The Committee will declare the winner of “Cartoo’n’Kite” and it shall have the right to assign any awards and special mentions.
The artworks which make it to the final stage of the competition will be exhibited at “Il Castagneto” of Toscolano during the "Voloevento" event.
Every artist must justify the content of their own artwork. The works that the Artistic Director receives could be chosen for publication, distribution and any type of use. Artworks will remain property of the organizing committee. All the competition participants understand and agree to the terms of the competition stated implicitly here, and accept, without any compensation, the exhibition of their artworks in or more shows in the art exhibition. They also agreed to its publication in books, posters, bookmarks, t-shirts or cute hats, calendars or agendas and on all the information services. It will be obligatory for the name of the artist and the country of origin and of the name of “Cartoo’n’Kite” and "Voloevento" to be included in every publication.

3. Various
“Cartoo’n’Kite while remaining fully committed to the care and protection of the works exhibited , does not take any responsibility for any theft, damage or loss that might occur involving these works from the moment they arrive till the close of the exhibition.
Participation in the event which is completely free, implies total acceptance of these regulations. The Organising Committee has the right and the responsibility to give the final decision concerning controversial questions as well as on matters not explicitly provided for.
